Product Manager, Gaming

This vision has driven us to develop technology that spans the range from digital projection systems and large flat panel displays to small, low power mobile devices. We also develop innovative methods to apply our core technologies to reduce overall system power and help reduce the bandwidth burden that comes with the display of HD and UHD video.

Overview:

Based in our Shanghai office, Pixelworks is seeking a Product Manager, Gaming for its rapidly growing mobile business. With the recent launch of 5G and the introduction of high-resolution, fast frame rate displays, the gaming experience on smartphones is trying to replicate that of the most advanced game consoles. Our unique, market leading technology is creating various opportunities for us to enable this vastly improved gaming experience. Reporting to the China Marketing Director, this position will be responsible for defining and implementing our strategy to support this next generation of gaming on mobile devices. This includes working with the leading game developers, such as Tencent and NetEase, and the top gaming engine providers, such as Unity and Unreal.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with leading game developers to understand their technical requirements and influence their services/apps to better support Pixelworks Iris technology focusing on MEMC and SDR2HDR
  • Work closely with gaming engine provides to enable hybrid cloud-app MV support to improve latency and overall gaming experience
  • Build out the ecosystem for Iris gaming, including both game developers and gaming engine providers
  • Become an evangelist for better quality video experience on gaming for mobile devices, taking advantage of the many unique Iris features
  • Combine market, technology and customer requirements to drive the technology direction for Pixelworks’ gaming capabilities
  • Understand competitive offerings and how to position against them

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of product management and/or product marketing experience supporting gaming applications with smartphones and consoles
  • BS technical degree required; MBA preferred
  • Intimate knowledge of the video game market, including knowing who the key players are in mobile games and how they position themselves in the marketplace
  • Strong understanding of smartphone display technology is a plus
  • Demonstrate good business sense, critical thinking and interpersonal skills
  • Proven success in developing effective relationships with game developers such as TenCent and NetEase
