ASIC System/Chip Architect

Location: Shanghai, China

An architect position to work on System/IC architectures in video, graphics, ISP, display coprocessor, mobile gaming, and AI visual enhancement.

Monthly tasks:

  • Visit customers and convert the customer/marketing requirements to chip features
  • Work with engineering teams on chip features, and itemize the cost for each feature
  • Partitioning the requirements to IP blocks, describe each IP block in the Chip/IP PRD
  • Estimate the chip cost and provide tradeoff options in product definition stage
  • Create functional spec for design and verification teams, review the IP design specs with IP owners and verification specs with verification owner
  • Be responsible & provide support for Image/Video processing IP RTL design and verification.
  • Support full-chip integration, maintain chip level c-model to support full chip simulation.
  • Co-work with algorithm, design, and verifications to ensure the chip implementation meets original architecture goals
  • Support debug work on chip level RTL design, integration, verification, and FPGA emulation.
  • Support FPGA validation and after-silicon chip validation, customer design-in, SW SDK

Qualifications (must-have):

  • Master/Ph.D. Degree in Electrical/Communication Engineering or related fields.
  • Minimum 5 years industry SoC development experience. Video processing SoC architecture/design experience is preferred.
  • Familiar with clock, CPU/GPU, reset, low power design
  • Experience in bus (AXI or OCP) fabric development, integration & performance optimization is a plus.
  • Experience in Perl/python is a plus.
  • Fluent speaking/writing in English and Good communication skills.

Qualifications (nice-to-have):

  • Good knowledge for C/C++ hardware modelling, effective coding for hardware implementation.
    • Add debug dump/maintain existed C++ algorithm
    • Bridge between the algorithm development team & IC design team, mapping the algorithm to micro-architecture for design.
  • Take part in the algorithm discussion and estimate the algorithm implementation cost
  • Game eco-system knowledge, understanding/learning the Unity/Unreal engines
