Description:

The VP of Operations has the responsibilities of driving Pixelworks overall foundry/OSAT strategy, sourcing, technical interfacing, and high-volume manufacturing. The scope of the organization covers various aspects of outsourcing operations including manufacturing strategy, technical & commercial supplier engagement, comprehensive coordination of internal engineering &business teams, as well as high volume manufacturing operations management. The team’s key goals are,

  • Establishing solid technology & sourcing roadmap & strategy to support Pixelworks product leadership and revenue growth aspiration,
  • Delivering secure, flexible, and cost competitive capacity through external manufacturing partners,
  • Ensuring uninterrupted, high-quality supply to our customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all aspects of operations-Plan, Source, Make, Delivery and Returns.
  • Responsible for flawless NPI, best-in-class ramp execution, predictable time-to-yield and consistent volume manufacturing operations.
  • The leader must drive the consistent peak performance of external factories through building a team of world-class engineers & supplier management experts, establishing global manufacturing infrastructure, and cultivating productive relationship with external factory partners.
  • The leader will also work broadly with Pixelworks internal teams to set and achieve best-in-class operations goal, aggressive yield targets, competitive cost benchmarks and work-class quality levels.
  • Senior level interface with wafer foundry and assembly suppliers. Key component of team for supplier selection and qualification.
  • Responsible for meeting product cost targets and developing cost and leadtime reduction roadmap
  • Lead global staff in Taiwan, San Jose and Shanghai.

Requirements:

  • BS or MS degree in Electrical, Material, Chemical, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, or relevant field; MBA preferred with 20+ years of applicable experience
  • Must have proven leadership skills across technology, engineering, and operational domains with extensive experience in managing all aspects of high-volume manufacturing operations including leading edge technology, large scale wafer manufacturing, production excursion prevention, product engineering, yield enhancement, volume ramp execution, cycle time improvement, cost reduction.
  • Being decisive, progressive, and dynamic in a high growth and fast paces organization with passion to grow
  • Leading manufacturing and supplier management professionals
  • Have the track record in managing large scale operations with multi-$M of purchasing spend
  • Proven experience in building and running a world class global operations organization
  • Experience running a high-volume operations organization; with production experience
  • Comfortable and competent in supplier pricing negotiations, budgeting, forecasting and inventory management
  • Experience with Oracle systems a plus; experience with running an organization in a global ERP environment a requirement
  • Must have an executive presence to engage with suppliers at the top level and influence internal teams at all ranks through credible leadership, constructive confrontation, and sincere collaboration.
  • Senior level contacts at Asia based suppliers such as TSMC, SMIC, ASE, SPIL.
